Why is your cat going to the bathroom on the
floor instead of the litter box?
Repeated use of any formula on your carpet will over time
destroy your carpet, this is a fact. Pet Stainoff is an amazing
product for removing pet stains and odors but if your feline companion is
habitually using your flooring as a bathroom you need to address the root
of the problem. Cats are difficult animals to understand but here
are some top reasons for why most cats use the you floor as toilet:
-
Cats are very in tune with their surroundings, any
dramatic change in your cats daily life can be very upsetting to them.
Cats have their daily routine and one of these routines is going to the
bathroom, by disturbing this routine your cat may be just be simply
protesting.
-
Does you cat spend a lot of time going back and forth to
its litter box or spend long periods in it? If so, your cat could
have a urinary tract infection. If your cat does have an infection
this can be very painful for your cat. A cat with a urinary tract
infection will go to the bathroom any chance it gets whether its in its
litter box or not. If you see these signs you should take your cat
to the vet immediatly. A $100 vet bill is much cheaper than purchasing
stain products on a regular basis or you night even end up
replacing your carpets.
-
When is the last time you changed your litter box? Cats
by nature are clean animals and would prefer to go to the bathroom on
your nice clean floor over using a dirty litter box. Change your
litter box on a regular basis and your cats will not only love you but
will love your flooring as well.
-
New baby or pet in the house? Cats don't like it
when the attention that they used to get from you is now being
given to someone else. Your cat could be protesting, make sure to
give your cats lots of attention.

Finding the cat stains
Sometimes finding where you cat is going to the bathroom
is the hard part. As with all pet stain solutions Pet Stainoff will only
work to get rid of the stain if it comes in contact with stain. Cats
are habitual and in most cases return to the same spot to urinate over and
over again, in a sense a common urinating spot becomes a new litter box.
Monitor your cats closely and pinpoint the areas they are using as a
bathroom. Another great tool for finding pet stains is using an
ultra violet light. Organic stains will glow when you shine an
ultraviolet light on them. Ultra violet lights are included in our 2
pet Stainoff kits located on our
pet stain remover online
store.

Marking the pet stains
After finding the stains take masking tape and mask a
border 6" around the stain. We do this so that we introduce Pet
Stainoff to the stain in a precise manner. Once you have marked all
the stains its time to begin the mixing and activating process.
|
 |
|
Mixing and activating Pet Stainoff
Pet Stainoff is a blend of highly concentrated mutant
bacteria that eats cat urine and fecal matter. Enzymes are activated
by introducing them to hot water and Pet Stainoff has a dilution ratio of
4 to 1 (4 parts water to 1 part Pet Stainoff. For smaller stains we
recommend mixing 1/2 cup Pet Stainoff to 2 cups hot water from your tap.
Once the product is mixed pour it into a spray bottle that can produce a
steady stream. Next it's time to apply the formula.

Introducing the formula to the stain
If there is fecal matter in the stain remove as much as
possible before applying the formula. Spray the formula from the
outer edges of the stain inward to the center.
|
 |
|
Injecting the formula into the carpet backing
Using a carpet syringe push the plunger all the way
down. Submerse the needle in the formula and draw it into the
syringe by pulling up the plunger. Inject the Pet Stainoff formula
into the stain working from the edges of the stain toward the center.
You should inject 60cc's of formula per 5"x5" stain.

|
|
Prolonging the active period of the enzymes
In order to keep the enzymes working we must keep them
warm. Place a moist warm towel on the stain and change repeatdly
every half hour for up to 6 hrs.
|
 |
|
Let the area dry
After using the moist towel let the formula dry
naturally. Once the area dries the stain will be gone.
